This is the best Mortal Kombat game since Ultimate MK3. I liked MK4 too, but it was meh. After MK4 the rest were just awful. There were bunch of new characters I never played before, but they were seriously bad. MK9 returns to the 2D world but with awesome graphics. The first MK games were brutal, with blood, gore and fatalities. But these new ones I talked about didn't have the intensity in them, almost no violence except hitting each other. MK9 brought back fatalities we all loved. Even some classic fatalities and costumes. The Ladder arcade has the same secrets as MK2 had and it's very fun to get them, but also hard. There is a challenge tower with 300 different challenges that will test you with every character. We also get constant DLC, which include characters and free classic costumes. Speaking of costumes, each character has an alternate one (except DLC for now). Some even have 5 alternates already and it's fun to bring style online. The online play is great too, but I still need a lot practice to get combos that do a lot of damage.
That's how long this review is, because great games deserve it. Fatality lives!
